it's particularly good this year with some great photos, especially December [which is our race bike!]

Update 24 11 11 This is now looking more and more like real substantial news. We understand key personel have replied to advertised jobs, and been appointed. A couple of new Suppliers are required and work is in hand already. It is expected that sufficient parts will be available for production of the new models to commence in January 2012. We hope to be riding the new models in the UK by April

Moto Morini

News today 29 10 11, from our exclusive Italian correspondant

Moto-Morini is to reopen on November 17 2011. Signor Tedeschi, who was in charge of buying at the previous MM, is part of the new team. He says that the plan is to recommence production and spares provisioning of and for the latter-day MM range.

So that's good news. I wonder whether they will be flying the flag at EICMA? If so, I'll track them down and get their coordinates.

Lambertini does not know much about the nuts and bolts of the MM structure - spares, warranty and such - but Tedeschi says he will be part of the new company, and will have design input.

Not bad news for a Saturday morning

Motorcycle Sport & Leisure Magazine June 07

The Corsaro Veloce [£9699] was tested in exotic company, the new 1098 Duke [£14000] and the MV Agusta Brutale []£12500]--- Making light of the serious price differential the Editor , Phil Turner , said about the Morini Veloce "[It was] -- The biggest surprise of the day for me. I went in thinking the Corsaro would be a big handful of jerky, twitchy, notchy evilness, but came away having ridden a seriously sound machine. The Veloce has one of the smoothest and most controllable V-twins I've ever used, once you get used to the fierce power on tap, you can pootle in traffic, blast round roundabouts or sit on the motorway with very little fuss. It's the comfiest of the three, the cheapest , and although it does not look quite as flashy, still turned a few heads. The sensible[!] choice"

NLM note;-The Veloce has the same power and torque as the 1098 Duke, but none of the servicing costs or fragility. The spec tables in the magazine failed to report the power correctly , and the bike was so well behaved that none of the testers noticed the extra power the Veloce has over the Corsaro
